Privacy Policy

The short version. The Montana Angler's Almanac is operated by Montana Property Reports, LLC of Livingston, Montana, which is the party responsible for the information described in this policy.

We use Google Analytics to count visits, served from montanareports.com. It sets cookies so one person moving between our sites is counted once. Advertising features are off (Google Signals and ad personalization disabled), and the tag never sends map coordinates, the places you search, email addresses, phone numbers, or anything you type. You can block it with your browser settings or an ad blocker and the site works normally.

Beyond that, we collect the minimum needed to run a membership and send the emails you ask for, and we do not sell personal information.

What you can do without an account

Everything free needs no account: today's best reach on every river, every closure, hoot-owl restriction, rule, access site and safety note. Nothing you read or tap is stored with your identity. "Use my location" is answered inside your browser: the coordinates are used on your screen to rank reaches by distance and are never sent to us.

What we collect

What we do not collect

Cookies and browser storage

There are no advertising cookies.

Third parties that receive data

Being specific here, since vague third-party clauses are how policies mislead people.

Nothing else loads in your browser from a third party. Typefaces, species plates and the river drawings are served from this site, and the U.S. Geological Survey, National Weather Service and Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks data behind every page are fetched by our server, not by your browser.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers, lead aggregators or marketers.

Retention

Membership and billing records are kept while you are a member and afterward as long as needed for accounting and tax purposes. Terms acceptance records are kept as evidence of consent. Sign-in links expire after fifteen minutes. Queued alerts are kept until sent. Technical logs are kept for a short operational period. Report-backs are kept as the calibration record they are; anonymous ones carry nothing that identifies you.

Your requests

Email matt@paradisevalleymedia.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete your account, or to stop alert emails (you can also turn alerts off on your account page). We will delete what we are not required to keep for accounting, fraud prevention or as evidence of a purchase you made, and we will tell you specifically what we kept and why rather than refusing in general terms.

Children

The almanac is a fishing conditions service for adults planning their own days on the water. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. We do not collect precise location from anyone; it stays in the browser.

Independence

Montana Property Reports, LLC is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Geological Survey, the National Weather Service or Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, whose public data the almanac reads.

Changes

If what we collect or who receives it changes, this page and its effective date change first, before the change ships.
